6.3

Opening and closing filter holder

DANGER

Risk of crushing limbs when opening and closing the filter holder

When the filter is opened and closed, surfaces and edges that can cause
pinching and cutting are exposed. The two-hand control for closing the
device protects only the person pressing the buttons.

Do not reach into the working range of the filter holder when opening
and closing.

The device should alway be operated by only one person.

WARNING

Aerosols are toxic

Aerosols can escape into the environment and harm persons when the fil-
ter holder is open.

Check that aerosol generation is switched off before opening the filter
holder.

6.3.1

Opening filter holder – narrow gap

When changing flat filter medium samples, the filter holder only has to be
opened a small gap.

To do this, press the black button

open

6.3.2

Opening filter holder all the way

The filter holder has to be completely open for the following tasks:

• To change convex-shaped respiratory masks
• To change the isokinetic sampling probe
• To change the adapter or the media holder

To do this, press the yellow button

unlock open

and the black button

open

simultaneously.
