4.2 Settings performed on the printer’s main unit
For the basic use of the printer’s operator panel, please refer to the User’s
Manual of the printer’s main unit.
It will take about 30 seconds for the printer to save a menu change after
you exit the menu. Please do not turn the power to the printer off for these
30 seconds or so.
If you wish to cancel the menu change, you can exit the menu mode by
pressing the “ON-LINE” button.
We recommend that you confirm the contents with menu print after you
make a change in the menu.
Caution: You must perform the network setting of the printer’s main unit
when the printer is not receiving print data.
4.2.1
Network Enable/Disable
In order to connect this network card to network and use it, Network must
be set to ENABLE on the printer’s operator panel. But “NETWORK” menu
when you install this network card to the printer for the first time is set to
“ENABLE*”. (* indicates that that value is set.)

Confirm that the printer is in the idle state from the LCD panel and
the lamp.
Caution: Do not set “NETWORK” to “DISABLE*” while print data are
being received.

Press “ON-LINE” button to set the printer to OFF-LINE, and press
“MENU1” button. When “PERSONALITY” is displayed, press
“MENU1” button repeatedly, to display “HOST/IF”.

Press “ENTER” button. “PARALL” is displayed. Press “MENU1”
button, to display “NETWORK”.

When you see that the bottom column of the LCD is “ENABLE*”,
press “ON-LINE” button to end the menu setting.
