7.2.3. MIDI Filter
This page allows the user to set which type of message reaching the MIDI IN ports is to be
filtered.
Filtering a message means ensuring that it will be suppressed during reception.
Looking at the display, we can see a field which specifies the MIDI input port (1 and 2) and
four fields corresponding to the types of message filtered by the MC 2000
: Note, Program
Changes, Control Changes, and Sys-Ex . The user can use the corresponding function
keys or the cursor keys (in this case, confirming with [ENTER]) to select the various fields,
and the Data Entry devices to activate (
ON condition) or deactivate ( OFF ) the filter for the
corresponding port and type of message.
Bear in mind that the MIDI FILTER settings affect the data processed by the instrument
while they have not effect on the MIDI THRU ports.
7.2.4. MIDI Program Map
This subsection enables the user to create a personalized map where he can set the order
of the patches which can be recalled from a remote unit with consecutive program change
numbers. In other words, the user can create a free association between the Program
Change received and the corresponding patch in the MC 2000. This function is useful
when the remote unit is unable to send the bank change message, and so if only the
Program Change were used, the operation would only affect the current bank.
Using the cursor keys to locate on " STATUS ", the user can use the Data Entry keys to set
the " ENA " condition which enables the personalized Program Change map, or " DIS ",
which disables the map. In this case, the Program Changes are received in the normal
way and, if the remote unit is not capable of sending the Bank Select messages, it will only
be possible to change the patches of the current bank by MIDI.
To set the map, locate on " MIDI PRG " and use the Data Entry devices to set the Program
Change number. After this, move to the " PGM " field to set the patch corresponding to it;
the name of the patch will appear on the right in a field for display only.
