MC 2000
Expandable MIDI Master Controller
115
The MC 2000 accepts both foot-switch type pedals and expression pedals in each pedal
connector: clearly, a foot-switch type pedal will only transmit two message values, i.e. 0
with the pedal released and 127 with the pedal pressed, while an expression pedal will
allow regulation of the associated parameter over all the intermediate steps.
After selection of the required zone (A H), [F2] is pressed (or the cursor location devices
are used) to select the pedal (from 1 to 4) on which the association with the control change
is to be created.
If the "ALSO SYSTEM!" message appears in the display field, this means that the selected
pedal (number 1 or 2) is also associated to a system control. In fact, the first two pedals of
the MC 2000 can be associated to the system as well as to the zone, meaning that the
control allocated to them acts on all the active zones in the patch currently selected.
The editing of this section refers solely to control of the pedals at zone level; see point
7.7.5 (Utility/System Ctrl) for setting of system controls.
At this point, the Control Change number is selected by pressing [F4] (or using the cursor
keys, confirming with [ENTER]): at this point the display will appear as shown below:
Note that here again, the display only field in the top right-hand corner shows the name of
the Control Change being selected when its value is different from OFF. The contents of
the display field will be updated in real time, with modification of the Control Change
number in the "
CC #
" field using the Data Entry devices. As already described when
discussing the sliders, the MC 2000 updates the Control Change
relative name
association depending on whether or not the system includes sound boards.
The last field in the video page is the "
DEFAULT
" field, meaning the value which the
selected pedal (and thus the relative Control Change associated to it) assumes when the
patch is recalled.
The values which this field may assume are OFF (default value not transmitted when the
patch is recalled), and 0 127, which can be set using the Data Entry devices after
selecting the field (key [F5] or cursor keys + [ENTER]).
Important note
: here again, as for the sliders, when setting the default value in a zone for
Control Changes 7 (volume), 10 (Pan-Pot), 91 (Reverb) and 93 (Chorus), make sure that
this operation has not already been carried out in the MESSAGES page. To avoid entering
contradictory data, it is advisable to set the default condition as OFF for all those data
which might be set in other sections of the Edit Mode.
