MC 2000

Expandable MIDI Master Controller

96

This  section  is  used  to  define  the  Key  Range  of  the  selected  zone  (the  area  of  the
keyboard it occupies), its transposition, whether the message is to be transmitted in mono
or  polyphonic  mode,  and  finally  whether  or  not  the  zone  is  to  transmit  the  portamento
messages generated by the master.
The  fields  can  be  selected  using  the  relative  function  keys  or  the  cursor  keys.    The
following is a list of the fields involved in this section:

ZONE

: selection of the zone to which the Modify parameters are to apply (from A to H).

LO  KEY

:  lower  split  point  assigned  to  the  zone  being  selected  (the  possible  values

range from A0 to C8). Due to the characteristics of the split point, the LO KEY value will
never be higher than HI KEY.

HI  KEY

:  upper  split  point  assigned  to  the  zone  being  selected  (the  possible  values

range from A0 to C8). Due to the characteristics of the split point, the LO KEY value will
never be higher than HI KEY.

Once the Lo Key or Hi Key value has been selected, the

value desired can be allocated by pressing the desired key directly on the keyboard.

TRANSP

: selection of the transposition value of the selected zone in a range between -

24 and +24 semitones: the value 0 indicates no transposition.

MODE

: application of MONO or POLYPHONIC mode to the selected zone.

PORTAM.

: whether or not the PORTAMENTO is to be applied to the selected zone.

Important note

: the monophonic mode and portamento are MIDI commands and thus do

not  belong  to  the  MC  2000  as  such.  Therefore,  the  setting  of  monophonic  mode  and
portamento will have no effect unless the receiver unit (expander or internal sound board)
is able to receive in this mode.

5.4. OUT MESSAGES

5.4.1. Introduction

Selecting  the  "

OUT  MESSAGES

"  field  from  the  Edit  Menu  using  key  [F3]  (or  the  cursor

keys, confirming with Enter) gives access to the section allowing the user to set up all the
messages  the  zone  will  send  when  the  patch is  recalled,  such  as  the  Program  Changes
(including the Bank Selects), the primary Control Changes (Volume, Reverb, etc.) and Sys
Ex.
The editing section on the display is  subdivided into  3 large  categories,  each referring  to
one type of message; when the function, the display will show:
