Repeat these operations for each Program Change for which you wish to modify the
association. The [F6] function key, which appears alongside the word "
next ", is used to
move the Program Change, and thus the patch associated to it, forward one step. The
modifications made in this section are automatically saved by the instrument.
7.3. MIDI BULK DUMP
The [F2] key corresponding to " BULK DUMP " can be pressed from the Utility Master video
page to select the function which allows some or all the data resident in the instrument
memory to the MIDI OUT 1 port in the form of exclusive instrument codes (MIDI Sys-Ex.).
These data can be stored on the computer or sequencer, thus allowing the user to create
one or more programming files and load them back into the instrument as required. All this
enables the user both to create back-up copies of data, and to create real programming
files containing patches, tables, etc.
It can take a long time to dump all the data contained in the memory of the MC 2000. For
this reason, the instrument is also able to perform partial dumps, which allow saving of just
some data, which the user can choose in this page. As soon as this page is accessed, the
display automatically selects the group of data which appear alongside "
SECT ."
The section of the MC 2000 data to be transmitted in the form of exclusive codes can
therefore be set in the "SECT." (section) field. The selections available to the user are:
•
ALL : The entire internal memory of the instrument undergoes a Bulk Dump.
•
PRGM (Programs): Bulk Dump of programs.
•
CHA (Chain): Bulk Dump of data relating to the Chains.
•
PG T (PG Tables): Bulk Dump of data relating to the Program Change tables.
•
SYS T (Sys Tables): Bulk Dump of data relating to the exclusive system tables.
The range of the memory locations relating to the chosen section can be selected in the
"
FROM " and " TO " fields.
After the appropriate settings have been made, connect the MIDI OUT 1 connector of the
MC 2000 to the MIDI IN connector of the data receiver unit and set the receiver device in
record mode.
