Remarks to Callback Configuration
With the Fixed Net Callback application, two NovaTec systems are used. One system
takes the role of the client and the other one of the server.
The client is installed behind or before the switch of the End customer. IT has the task of
recognizing call back calls and passing them on to the server.
After contacting the server, the call will stay in an ALERTING state i.e. ringing. The call will
stay in this stage until either the caller has aborted the call, i.e. laid down the reciever or until
the call back has been received by the client. The client recognizes the callback call and and
established the connection between the two partys.
The server waits for incoming call back calls. When a call back call is recieved and the
server has checked the call is approved (permissions, routing etc.) the call back call and
the target (dialled) number will be started simultaneously. When the target telephone
rings the incoming call activation call from the client will be disconnected. The call
costs will then be invoiced with the server end and not with the client.
Generally each NovaTec Splitter/NMG can take over both the role of the client, however the
server must be installed with the SOS board .
The ISDN network between clients and server must however fullfill certain technical
requirements.
The Requirements depend on the used call back mode on the client side.
