Change of password
Please enter the username in the appropriate field and then enter the old password followed
by a semi-colon (;), then the new password, another semi-colon (;) and then the new
password again, for confirmation purposes.
Example:
Old password: old
New password: new
You enter: old;new;new
Should you forget your password, you can enter the NovaTec
Mobile Gateway S20 with the user
name
Technik
and the password
NoPassWd
. Please note that under these circumstances, all
data in the NovaTec
Mobile Gateway S20 will be automatically deleted, necessitating a new
download from the PC.
For automatic remote maintenance, please ask for the network management system.
Local Maintenance via V.24/RS232
Adjustment of the Programming Interface
To connect to the system using the COM port please select "V.24" from "Network" in the
"Establish Connection" window. The default COM port is COM2. If you like to use a different
COM port for programming then you can change this setting using the Network Services.
Please start the Network Services if not already running. Right click on the blue icon in the
Windows system tray and select "Settings" from the upcoming context menu. Under the "COM
port settings" you can enable and disable the COM port (for use by NovaTec software), select
a different COM port and select the baud rate for the COM port.
Remote Maintenance via ISDN
Requests to the ISDN card
To obtain remote maintenance services via ISDN a ISDN card that supports CAPI 2
v e r s i o n 2 . 0 o r h i g h e r i s r e q u i r e d . T h i s m u s t b e f u l l y i n s t a l l e d o n y o u r P C .
Please install the ISDN card according to the manufacturers installation guidelines.
For correct operation we propose and support the AVM-Fritz-Card only. After
successful installation please go to the "Establish Connection" window and select
"ISDN" from the "Network" options. Then enter the phone number of the NovaTec
Mobile Gateway S20 in the field "Dialling no." and click on OK.
Should you wish to operate the NMG from a terminal equipment interface, please enter
the phone number followed by a /TE. To be able to connect via ISDN the option "Activate
ISDN (CAPI 2.0 installed)" must be activated in the Network Services settings.
