Mobile Gateway S20 Terminal Equipment

Interface

This chapter describes the physical assembly of the NovaTec

Mobile Gateway S20 terminal

equipment interface. Furthermore, the number of wires and their assignments are given for each
type of interface.

4.10.1

The BRA Interface

The BRA interface is a digital 4-wire interface. This 4-wire interface comprises two
pairs of wires. One pair of wires realizes the datastream for the transmission direction
and the other pair is dedicated to the receiving direction. The individual wires in each
pair of wires are differentiated as wire A and wire B. Each BRA interface consists of the
following four wires:

Transmit A
Transmit B
Receive A
Receive B

When connecting terminal equipment to the NovaTec

Mobile Gateway S20 ensure that the

BRA interface wires are not accidentally switched.

4.10.2

The PRA Interface

The PRA interface is a digital 4-wire interface. This 4-wire interface is comprised of two
pairs of wires. One pair of wires realizes the datastream for the transmission direction,
and the other pair is dedicated to the receiving direction. The individual wires in each
pair of wires are differentiated as wire A and wire B. The end of non used lines must be
terminated in the main distribution frame. Each PRA interface consists of the following
four wires:

Transmit A
Transmit B
Receive A
Receive B

When connecting terminal equipment to the NovaTec

Mobile Gateway S20 ensure that the

PRA interface wires are not accidentally switched.
