The following table describes the expansion capabilities of the NovaTec
Mobile Gateway S20.
The values provided in the table are parameters for the maximum expansion that can be
undertaken. If you are intending to use the NovaTec
Mobile Gateway S20 as a fixed mobile
PABX, then you can combine the WAU modules with ULU for U interfaces and CAUs for the
S/T interfaces. For more information please see NovaTec Splitter S20 Handbook. Please note
that each WAU slide in card contains up to two mobile engines daughter boards. Each daugther
board also contains two mobile engines.
Please note:
If no CAU is in use within the NovaTe
Mobile Gateway S20, the PRI expansion board will
always be located on the CCU or CCU-3. On the first CAU in use, the PRA expansion board
will be located on the CAU and a BRA expansion board will be inserted in to the CCU. If BRA
interfaces with remote power supply (phantom powering) are required the DC4 must be inserted.
DC4 can provide 16W (watt) power. 2W (1W per terminal equipment) are provided into each
BRA interface. This means that one DC4 provides the power for 8 BRA interfaces. Should
more BRA interfaces require a power supply, additional DC4s must be installed.
