JavVid Controls

The Javelin Video Switcher Plug-In can be divided into a few basic controls:

• Camera Selection Area -

The Camera Selection Area of the JavVid plug-in provides a control for

selecting what camera is to be affected by the JavVid plug-in, as well as a button to open the camera

titling box. The camera number can be set to any number between 000 - 999. Clicking the

Set Title

button calls up a small form for entering the new title. This will set the entered title as the title on the

currently selected camera.

• Monitor Selection Area -

This area allows selection of which monitor is being addressed by the

JavVid plug-in. This is used in setting specific cameras to be viewed on specific monitors using the

switching button

• Switching Button -

Clicking this button causes the currently selected camera (in the

Camera Selec-

tion Area

) to be viewed on the currently selected monitor (in the

Monitor Selection Area

). Any

display settings (Title, Display Attributes, Display Position, etc) are retained when cameras and monitors are

switched, and move with camera.

• Camera Display Attributes -

This area allows the displaying or hiding of each element of the

cameras display. Using the checkboxes to the left, it is possible to hide or show the

time

date

camera

number

, and

camera title

(set using the

Set Title

button). It is also possible to set the display text to

either black or white (white is default). Once these attributes have been selected as desired using the

checkboxes, click the

Update Camera #XXX

button. Keep in mind that this sends all attributes in this

area, not just the ones that have changed.
Note: Hiding the

Camera Title

causes the text in this field to be replaced with blank spaces. If the title

is hidden and then shown again, it will be necessary to reset the title using the

Set Title

button. The

software will warn you if you are about to erase the title.

• Display Position Area -

This feature allows the setting X and Y coordinates for the monitor text

display. Enter the X and the Y coordinates in the appropriate fields. Clicking the

Set Position for

Camera #XXX

button causes these new coordinates to be sent to the camera display.

• Switcher Node Selection -

This list box displays all NIONs connected to one or more switchers.

Select the NION for the desired switcher here. If all switchers are connected to a single node then no

selection is required.
