4.3.1 Command Options
These Plug-Ins provide common fire-related functions to the AFP-400 and AFC-600 panels. Each Plug-In contains
ten menu items and macro commands that relate to common fire devices. These ten menu items are:
• Acknowledge
• Silence
• Reset
• Manual Evacuate
• Enable
• Disable
• Turn Zone On (AFP-400)-
or
- Activate Output (AFC-600)
• Turn Zone Off (AFP-400-
or
- Deactivate Output (AFC-600)
Each menu item controls a specific Nion function or panel device. The devices to which each menu item relates
are detailed below.
Acknowledge
Acknowledge relates to all devices with no restrictions.
Acknowledge works in the same manner as the
ACK
button on the workstation main screen, but allows some new
uses. Using the Acknowledge Plug-In Command in a macro, it is possible to create a macro that can acknowl-
edge one or more than one device. This macro can then be assigned to either a function key or a functional
button in the screen display. The real power here is that a macro can contain multiple commands, so a specific list
of devices can be acknowledged with one keystroke or click of the mouse.
Silence
Silence relates to all devices with no restrictions.
When an alarm is activated, external audible circuits connected to the main panel sound audible alarms. These
external horns can be silenced either locally, at the panel, or from a control workstation, if the panel supports
remote controls. The user may silence external audibles by using the Panel Communications Box or using the Panel
Silence command.
Reset
Reset relates to the Control Panel.
After an alarm condition occurs, a panel reset is required to return controlled equipment, such as pumps and fans,
back to normal state. On some systems, a reset can be sent to get a current list of outstanding off-normal events.
In the workstation, certain alarm conditions stay in the event box even after the condition has returned to normal.
The operator may reset single or multiple panels using the Reset function.
