Cable routing and labeling

Route and label cables prior to connecting the cables to the processor cards,
termination panels, and far-end equipment to simplify your installation tasks.

Prerequisites to cable routing and labeling

•

Ensure all cables comply with the appropriate cable specifications. For
more information about cable requirements, including pinouts, see
241-7401-200 Passport 7400 Hardware Description.

•

Before routing any cables, measure the exact distance that the cables will
follow and ensure all cables are long enough, with minimal slack
management. Also, ensure that cables are routed away from anything that
can damage the cable or affect its signals.

Cable routing and labeling task flow

This task flow shows you the sequence of procedures you perform to route
