Passport 7400 Hardware Installation, Maintenance, and Upgrade 5.2S1

Removing an MSA32 sparing panel cable cover

Remove an MSA32 sparing panel cover for replacement or if it is necessary
for removing an MSA32 sparing panel.

Prerequisites

•

When a pair of the same type of DS1 or E1 MSA32 sparing panels with
BNC or DB15 connectors are inter-connected by flexi-cables one above
the other in a 1:n configuration, a cover can conceal the flexi-cables. The
cover is identified by product engineering code (PEC) NTPS07.

•

There is no software associated with the use of the cable cover.

Procedure steps

1

Locate the sparing panel cover on the MSA32 modular sparing panels.
See “Location of a cable cover NTPS07 on MSA32 sparing panels with
DB15 connectors” (page 380).

2

At the finger grips, tightly pinch the cover with two hands and pull the
cover away from the faceplates until the magnets release.
