Setting the IP address for the E2800 management port

Management port 1 on the E2800 controller connects the appliance to the management network
for SANtricity System Manager. You must set a static IP address for the E2800 controller to
ensure that you do not lose your management connection to the hardware and the controller
firmware in the StorageGRID appliance.

After accessing SANtricity System Manager, you can use it to configure hardware settings.
Typically, you configure these settings before deploying the appliance as a Storage Node in a
StorageGRID system.

About this task

You use SANtricity System Manager to configure the following settings:

•

Email alerts, SNMP alerts, or syslog alerts for the appliance hardware

•

AutoSupport settings for the appliance hardware

•

Drive Security keys, which are needed to unlock secured drives (this step is required if you are
using FDE or FIPS drives and the Drive Security feature is enabled)

•

Administrator password for accessing SANtricity System Manager
