CHAPTER 6 16-BIT TIMER/EVENT COUNTER 00

6.1 Functions of 16-Bit Timer/Event Counter 00

16-bit timer/event counter 00 has the following functions.

(1) Interval timer

16-bit timer/event counter 00 generates interrupt requests at the preset time interval.

•

Number of counts: 2 to 65536

(2) External event counter

16-bit timer/event counter 00 can measure the number of pulses with a high-/low-level width of valid level
pulse width or more of a signal input externally.

•

Valid level pulse width: 2/f

or more

(3) Pulse width measurement

16-bit timer/event counter 00 can measure the pulse width of an externally input signal.

•

Valid level pulse width: 2/f

or more

(4) Square-wave output

16-bit timer/event counter 00 can output a square wave with any selected frequency.
