Operational Testing

2. Firmly press the CLOSE button … the MV Breakers should CLOSE

3. The CLOSE button’s BREAKER CLOSED Red indicator should now be illuminated

4. The three (3) individual A-PHASE, B-PHASE, and C-PHASE Red indicators should

now also be illuminated

Manual 3-Phase Operation

While still in REPAIR SERVICE MODE, the MV VFI Breakers may be cycled OPEN and
CLOSE independent of any protection logic or recloser settings.

NOTE: Protection Logic can still cause a TRIP event. e.g. If the MV Breakers are
manually CLOSED and there is no grid voltage, the Protection Relay may still TRIP the
MV Breakers on an under voltage condition.

The following steps, demonstrate manual operation of the MV VFI Breakers for a 3-
Phase actuation:

1. Press and hold the TARGET RESET button until the TRIP Red indicator is no

longer illuminated
