Protection Relay Settings

Mode Descriptions:

1. Automatic Mode

All Protection logic and reclosing (if configured) is enabled and all programmed
commands for TRIP and CLOSE are allowed

By pushbutton or SCADA, the Protection Relay can 3-Phase TRIP

By pushbutton or SCADA, the Protection Relay can 3-Phase CLOSE with
Automated Inrush Mitigation Switching

The Protection Relay cannot be commanded (via pushbutton or SCADA) to 1-
Phase TRIP or 1-Phase CLOSE

2. Repair Service Mode

All Protection logic and reclosing (if configured) is enabled, however CLOSE
commands are DISABLED … TRIP commands are ALLOWED

By pushbutton or SCADA, the Protection Relay can 3-Phase TRIP

Only by pushbutton, the Protection Relay cannot 3-Phase CLOSE

Only by pushbutton, the Protection Relay can 3-Phase CLOSE with Automated
Inrush Mitigation Switching

By pushbutton or SCADA, the Protection Relay can 1-Phase TRIP

Only by pushbutton, the Protection Relay can 1-Phase CLOSE

Power Supply & UPS Battery TRIP

The myPV ClearSky PLUS’s SEL-751 is pre-programmed to support TRIP on-alarm-
condition for the following conditions and time delays:

On loss-of-control-power, when the N.O. power supply digital output OPENs, the
Protection Relay will TRIP after 30 seconds.

On UPS-battery-alarm, when the N.O. UPS digital output OPENs, the Protection Relay
will TRIP after 40 minutes.

Both time delays may be adjusted to support longer or shorter durations by modifying
the RDB template settings file.
