The sterile person transfers the LDP connector plugs out of sterile field to a non-sterile person
who inserts plugs into their receptacles on the PCM (see Figure 8.6.33).
•
Insert the cooling plug into its silver mating receptacle until the sleeve on the receptacle
moves - it will click and lock when fully inserted
•
Insert the probe detection plug into its yellow colored connector until it clicks

Remove the dust cover and insert the temperature sensor plug into the green adapter
connection by orienting the key on the plug with the groove on the adapter

Visually verify that the notches on the temperature sensor plug are no longer visible to
ensure it is fully connected (Figure 8.6.34)
•
Remove the dust cover and insert the laser plug into the mating receptacle
- two clicks should be heard; one at partial (half) insertion and one at full insertion
•
With medium force, pull back on the laser fiber plug to ensure it is securely seated and
cannot be disconnected
Note:
There should be zero visible red glow at the laser fiber plug connector when fully
connected. If a red glow is visible, check to ensure laser fiber plug is fully seated (Figure 8.6.35).
Note:
When the laser fiber plug is fully seated, there should be no noticeable gap between the
orange latch on the laser fiber plug and the orange component on the fiber plug connector
(Figure 8.6.35).
