Output HOLD/CLEAR setting function
This function sets the handling of the last output data when the IO-Link module is disconnected from data link or when the
CPU module is in the STOP state, RESET state, or ERROR STOP state. The operation of the IO-Link module varies
depending on whether the module is in the IO-Link mode or the SIO mode.
Output HOLD/CLEAR setting and its operation
When CLEAR or HOLD is set for an output, the output is turned on or off as follows.

When IO-Link mode is set
The operation of the IO-Link device of which output HOLD/CLEAR setting is set to CLEAR varies depending on the IO-Link
device connected. For details, refer to the manual of the IO-Link device.
The output HOLD/CLEAR setting function cannot be used on the IO-Link module of which firmware version is
"2.0". In this case, the IO-Link module operates based on the HOLD setting.

When SIO mode is set
• HOLD: Outputs the last output data.
• CLEAR: Outputs OFF.
To set HOLD or CLEAR to all output process data collectively, set the output HOLD/CLEAR setting of the data to be read or
written via transient communication.
*1 The output ON/OFF status is subject to the parameter settings (the output mode setting upon CPU error, output hold/clear setting upon
CPU STOP) of the master/local module.
The external input signal (RX) and external output signal (RY) will be turned off regardless of this setting if a
moderate or major error occurs on the IO-Link module.
