the software knows what external router output is connected to the Kaleido-X, and so can make the
appropriate crosspoint change.
1. An operator right-clicks a video player and makes a selection from the
Assign [router] input
menu.
2. The
Router Connections
tab in XEdit allows you to map the physical connections between the INPUT
connectors on the Kaleido-X and the external router OUTPUTs, which allows the Kaleido-X to
determine the crosspoint switch needed.
3. The Kaleido-X sends this command to the external router, over a serial or TCP/IP connection, using the
appropriate protocol.
4. The external router redirects the specified source signal.
