3. In the equipment library, select the appropriate frame type: Kaleido-X (7RU), Kaleido-X (4RU), or
Kaleido-X (7RU)×2 (with expansion), and drag it onto the root of the System hierarchical list.
Alternatively, right-click the list root, and then click the system of choice on the shortcut menu.
Note: If you deleted the initial frame entry from the System list then the menu shows “Insert...”
commands for each frame type; otherwise it shows “Replace with...” commands for the remaining
frame types.
A message may appear, prompting you to confirm your intention.
4. Click Yes to have the system populated with factory defaults for the selected frame type. See
“Restoring Factory Defaults” on page 103 for details. Alternatively, click No, if this system is based on a
existing system whose room and layout configurations you wish to reuse. (For instance, you could be
converting two 7RU frames to an expansion system. Please refer to the
Kaleido-X Expansion Guide for
more information.)
Note: Databases created for a Kaleido-X (4RU) are not fully compatible with those created for a
Kaleido-X (7RU) system. It is important to select the proper frame type at this stage.
