The median is formed from a 
preselected filter width N of mea-
sured values. For this purpose, 
the incoming measured values   
are re-sorted after each measure-
ment. The mean value is then out-
put as median. If an even value is 
selected for the filter width N, then 
the middle two metrics are added 
together and divided by two.
