Installing GT7710 Expansion Chassis System 

 

 

Caution:

 

Remove all power and observe proper ESD 

handling procedures before and during card installation. 

The following procedure describes how to install the GT7710 Expansion 
Chassis System: 

1.  Turn off all power for host PC and for the GT7710 Expansion 

Chassis. 

2.  Place the GT7710 on a work surface or mount it into a 19” 

(24”deep) equipment rack using a GTXI-700R Rack Mount Kit. 

3.  Set the Line Voltage Switch on the GT7710 to either 115VAC or 

230VAC. 

4.  Set the GTXI-701PCT Bus Expander Board DIP switch settings for 

the desired ISA bus base address and configuration. Refer to 
“Installing the GTXI-700 for Bus Extender Mode” above in this 
chapter.  

5.  Install the GTXI-701-PCT Bus Expander Board into a 16 bit ISA 

slot on the host PC. 

6.  Install the SBS 200-2 PCI Host Card into a bus-master capable PCI 

slot on the host PC.  The slot can be either 3.3V or 5.0V, and either 
32 or 64 bit PCI. Refer to Chapter 3of the SBS Model 200-2 PCI 
Host Card Hardware Manual. 

7.  Install the GTXI-701-PCR Bus Receiver Board into the right-most 

slot on the GT7710 Expansion Chassis and tighten the bracket 
mounting screws. 

8.  Attach the ISA expansion cable to the GTXI-701-PCR Bus 

Receiver connector. 

9.  Install the SBS 212-2 Compact PCI Backplane Controller Card into 

the 251210 Carrier Card and tighten the bulkhead screws. 

10.  Attach the expansion cable to the connector on the Controller Card 

and tighten the thumb screws finger-tight.
