Appendix C – Parts and Maintenance

Replacing a damaged wire on Keyboard cable

Unplug the power cord before performing this procedure.

1. Unbolt the six small screws on the front panel and pull out the

panel. See Figure C-1.

2. Unscrew the two screws holding the male end of the keyboard

cable to the panel and remove the cable.

3. Remove the black protective covering from the wires on the

female end of the cable.

4. Remove the solder from the wires.

5. Cut off the cable to remove the damaged break in the wires.

6. Solder the ends of the colored wires on the plugs of the switch

per Figure C-8 below.

7. Replace the black protective covering on the wire ends.

8. Put the black shrink-wrap cover back on or use electrical tape.

9. Reattach the connector to the panel.

10. Put the panel back in place and reattach the six screws.
