Chapter 2 - Installing and Operating

Unpacking and inspecting the GTXI

1. Before unpacking the GTXI, check the outside of the shipping

package for damage. Note any damage on the shipping bill.

2. Remove the platform from the shipping carton.

Note

:

Save the original shipping carton and packing material

in case the GTXI unit needs to be returned to Geotest.

3. Read the packing list to ensure all listed items are enclosed,

including hardware, power cords, manuals, etc.

4. Inspect the unit. If any missing items, defects, or damage are

noticed, notify Geotest immediately.

Setting up the GTXI

The GTXI unit is shipped as a stand-alone system or as a bus
extender system. If instrumentation boards are ordered, they will be
installed on GTXI carrier boards and put inside the platform. For
installation details, refer to the appropriate section:

This chapter describes how to set up the GTXI platform. Additional
steps are required to install boards inside the GTXI. These are
described in
