Chapter 2 - Installing and Operating

8. Run the GTXI utility program GTXICFG.EXE (for ISA bus

instruments only). This utility is used to assign resources to and
from the Controller. Verify that assignments are correct. Refer
to Chapters 3 and 4 for further instructions.

9. The GT7700 is now ready for use.

Installing the GTXI-700 for standalone Mode

As a stand-alone system, the GTXI-700 comes with the GTPC-7586
controller module and all the boards purchased for that system pre-
installed.

The GTPC Buffer Board has factory pre-configured DIP switches
that do not normally need to be changed by the user. These DIP
switches are similar to those used on a GTXI-701 PCT bus
Expander Board, as described in more detail in the section
“Installing the GTXI-700 for Bus Extender Mode” on page 39.

The following steps are required to set up the GTXI-700 in stand-
alone mode:

1. Mount the GTXI-700 unit with its GTPC controller module by

either:

♦

placing it on a regular work surface or

♦

Mounting it in a standard 19-inch (24-inch deep)
equipment rack using the optional GTXI-700R Rack
Mount Kit.

2. Set the line voltage to 110V or 220V as needed by the line

voltage switch on the rear of the GTXI-700. See Figure 2-1 and
Figure 2-2.

3. Turn the quick release screws on the GTXI-700 door (as shown

in Figure 2-7 and Figure 2-8) and open the door to access the
GTPC module connections.
