GTXI User's Guide

GTXI-7710 Expansion Chassis System

The GT7710 is an expansion chassis that provides additional
expansion card slots to a host PC. This expansion chassis supports
ISA, PCI, PXI and CompactPCI (CPCI) instrument cards. This
expansion chassis has 7 PCI slots and 8 ISA slots. There is one PCI
Host card and one ISA Host card that plugs into expansion card
slots in the host PC. The PCI Host card must reside in a PCI slot
that supports bus mastering. Refer to the documentation included
with the host PC system to verify that the PCI slots are bus
mastering capable. These PCI and ISA Host cards interface to the
expansion chassis through shielded ribbon cables. The cables
connect to PCI and ISA backplane controller cards installed in the
expansion chassis. The PCI backplane controller card must be
loaded into the left-most PCI slot of the GT7710. The ISA
backplane controller card is loaded into the right-most ISA slot of
the GT7710.
