Common Bus 

The common bus signals 1-6 on the PCI bus are the same as the 
common bus signals 1-6 on the ISA bus. When an instrument board 
is connected to the common bus for a particular signal, its signal 
connects to all other instruments also connected to the common bus 
for that same signal, regardless of the slot number in which they are 
placed. 

To use the common bus, place a connection from the instrument 
board to the appropriate local bus connector pin on the carrier card.  

For example, to use the common bus for signal 2, place a 
connection from the instrument board to Pin 2 on the local bus 
connector. When the board is placed in a PCI slot, the common bus 
signal 2 is automatically connected to the common bus signal 2 at 
all other boards that are also connected to the common bus.
