8.0 Using the ME-RC Remote

8.3 ME-AGS-N Operation/Monitoring using the ME-RC

This section covers the AGS menus in the ME-RC remote that determine how

to control and operate the generator. The section also includes menus that are
used to monitor starting and running conditions for the AGS and the generator.

• Enable

Select this option to have the AGS monitor temperature (

Start Temp F

) and/or the inverters battery voltage (

05 Start Volts

) to

determine when to automatically start the generator.

• Test

Select this option to test the generator. This option starts the

generator, runs it for approximately 30-60 seconds, and then stops the

generator. Use this setting for testing generator wiring and operation.
After a successful start/stop sequence test, this selection returns to

Off

• Enable w/QT

Select this option to have the AGS monitor tempera-

ture (

04 Start Temp F

) and/or the inverters battery voltage (

05 Start

Volts

) to determine when to automatically start the generator with the

Quiet Time parameters enabled.

WARNING:

Never allow the generator to start/run in an enclosed

garage or any other type of enclosed structure without proper ven-

tilation. Carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless, deadly gas may
accumulate and cause serious injury or death.

AGS: 02 AGS Status Menu

This menu allows you to view the AGSs current status. There are 13 dif-
ferent status messages to identify the AGSs current state, but only one is

displayed at any one time (refer to the AGS menu map Figure 8-2).
Available statuses are (refer to Tables 11-1 thru 11-3 for detailed descrip-

tions of each):

AC In

Manual Run

No Comm

Fault Temp

Fault Test

Fault VDC

Lockout

8.3.2 Monitoring the AGS using the ME-RC

The following menus are helpful for the proper operation and monitoring
of your AGS/generator system. Press the AGS button, and then rotate and

press the SELECT knob to access the following menus:

8.3.1 Controlling the AGS using the ME-RC

Press the AGS button, and then rotate and press the SELECT knob to access

the following menus:

AGS: 01 AGS Control Menu

This menu is used to enable the AGS (selecting

Enable

w/QT

). A

Test

setting is also available to ensure the start/stop wiring from

the generator to the ME-AGS-N is correct. The available settings are:

• Off

This option disables the AGSs generator start/stop functions. It

also turns the generator off if it is running from an autostart command.

When

Off

is selected, the generator will not start automatically. This is

the default setting. If you have an AGS fault, select

Off

to clear the fault.

Info:

If DC power is lost to the remote or to the system, this menu

resets to the default

Off

position for safety.
