4. CARBURETTOR
A venturi-type carburettor consists of a barrel in a housing, which allows it to be mounted on the air intake
manifold.

The operating principle is the Venturi effect. As air flows through the barrel, a vacuum proportional to the air
velocity develops in the throat of the venturi, causing gas to be drawn into the carburettor, thus giving rise to an
air-gas mixture in the venturi.
