FID DB: AC Switch and Cable Assembly

Removal of Library Door Open Sensor

1. “Prepare the Tape Device for Service” on page PROC-5 and then return here.
2. Perform removal of the “Library Chassis Covers” on page CARR-3.
3. Perform removal of the “FID 9D: Library Front Cover Assembly” on page CARR-27.
4. Set the front cover aside for now.
5. Remove the AC On/Off switch cable from the power supply that supplies power to drive 1.

6. If you are working on a dual drive model, remove the AC On/Off power extension cable that supplies

|

power to drive 2 power supply from the rear of the AC On/Off switch.

7. Open the cable clamps as necessary to remove the cable from the trough.
8. Remove the AC On/Off switch feed-through cable from the mounting bracket.
9. Remove the two screws that secure the AC On/Off switch to the front chassis mounting bracket.

10. Remove the AC switch and cable from the machine.

Replacement of AC Switch and Cable Assembly

1. Perform the removal procedure steps in the reverse order.
2. Prepare the drive for customer operation.
3. If this part is being replaced with a new part, use your local procedures to report the FRU part number

for the FID and use technical area code (TAC) C02 for the area of failure.

4. Return to the procedure that sent you here.

FID DC: AC Power Cord

Removal of AC Power Cord

1. Prepare the drive for service.

2. Remove power from the device.

3. Remove the power connection from the customer wall outlet.

4. Remove the power connection from the device.

Replacement of AC Power Cord

1. Perform the removal procedure in the reverse order.

2. Prepare the drive for customer operation.

3. If this part is being replaced with a new part, use your local procedures to report the FRU part number

for the FID and use technical area code (TAC) C02 for the area of failure.

4. Return to the procedure that sent you here.
