Installing the 3570 in a Rack (Models C11 and C12 Only)

Note: The Rack Hoist is only used when installing the Model C11 and C12 drives in a 9309 Rack

system. The hoist is not used when installing the Models C21 and C22 in a Netfinity rack. For

these models, the CE or customer will require assistance in lifting the drives onto the tray.

The following notices are translated into selected languages. Each notice contains an identifier
(Caution=Cx).

CAUTION
The 3570 Model C11 weighs approximately 24 kilograms (53 pounds); it takes
two persons to safely lift this unit.

CAUTION
The 3570 Model C12 weighs approximately 29 kilograms (64 pounds); it takes
two persons to safely lift this unit.

Note: This notice is translated into selected languages. See C2 and C4 in the INSP section.

1. See Figure 210 on page INST-25. Remove the 4 corner screws

from the drive. These will

be used to attach the drive to the tray in a later step.

2. If you have assistance to lift the 3570, go to step 15 on page INST-24.

Rack Hoist Only

If you do not have assistance, use the rack hoist P/N 69X5542 (branch office tool) or equivalent to
install the 3570.

3. Install the rack hoist using the instructions provided.

4. Position the 3570 shipping container in front of the rack.

5. See Figure 208 on page INST-23. Route one end of the hoist sling strap

under the 3570

while it is still in the shipping container. If necessary, cut the sides of the box so you can get the
strap under the 3570.
