Installing Supporting Slides and Tray in Rack

When installing the library models in a rack, 6 EIA rack units must be available.

1. Determine which rack location the 3570 will be installed in. Count and mark the 6 EIA units on the

left and right sides of the front and the rear of the rack.

2. See Figure 203. Install the 2 nut-plates

, using 4 screws

, P/N 1624778, in the bottom EIA

units on the left side, as shown. Leave the screws loose enough to be able to insert the slide
mounting brackets

under the nut-plates.

3. Install the left-hand slide assembly

. Insert the brackets

under the nut-plates

and

tighten the screws

Notes:

a. Ensure that the slide extends toward the front of the rack.

b. If it is necessary to adjust the length of the slide mounting brackets to fit the rack, do not

loosen the front mounting bracket screws. Do all of the adjustment with the rear mounting
bracket.

4. Install the nut-clip

, P/N 74F1823, in the top hole of the first EIA unit above the left slide as

shown in Figure 203. The screw will be installed later in step 8 on page INST-63.
