Starting up the TCU
After you have installed and securely fastened all connections and filled and bled
them in accordance with the instructions above, you can start up the TCU.
Only start up the system under supervision until the fault lamp in the switch cabinet
goes out and the system runs in normal mode.
Proceed as follows:
1.
Open all shut-off fittings in the supply and return lines of the TCU.
2.
Switch the TCU on via the main switch.
3.
The signal lamp on the electrical switch box lights up. This indicates that the
alarm pressure SP2 set in the electronic pressure switch EDS (6) has not yet
been reached and that the K2 relay is activated.
The time relay (K1) determines the start up delay before the preset pressure
must be reached. The time relay is factory-set to five minutes.
When the stopping pressure is reached, the system will switch off
automatically. Restart the TCU. To do so, switch it on and off at the main
switch.
The TCU is then restarted with a new delay time. If the system stops after
restarting, this indicates a fault in the system.
See also Setting the time relay (K1) on Page 35 and the Electronic pressure
switch EDS (6) on Page 35.
4.
When the signal lamp goes out and the TCU is operational, check the
function of the safety switch (14) in the drip tray and of the optional float
switch in the collecting canister.
To do so, lift the switch, e.g. by laying a towel underneath it or by lifting it.
When the 5 minutes set on the time relay (K1) have expired after the TCU is
started, the system must deactivate automatically.
Do not switch off the TCU. Instead wait until a pressure balance has taken
place within the degasification and dewatering unit. The oil level and the
displayed pressure start to increase. The pressure may not be allowed reach
atmospheric pressure and should remain below 980mbar. If the pressure
should rise to atmospheric pressure levels, inspect the automatic shut-off
valve (9).
Do not switch off the system by lifting the safety switch (14), check the
settings of the time relay (K1). See page 34 "Setting the time relay (K1)".
5.
Check the TCU and the connections for leaks. If necessary, tighten leaking
threaded connections.
After start-up, check the
Buchholz relay
for air which may have entered and
bleed it.
