The volume of the gas sampling bag is determined in the laboratory and the gas it
contains is analyzed via a gas chromatograph.
The filling period can be used to calculate the quantity of the respective gas in
ml / day and to determine the gas formation rate. The values as ml / day can be
converted to ppm / year via the oil quantity in the transformer and the number of
days in a year.
If the DGA performed simultaneously reveals an increase in the gas, it can be added
to the gas formation rate determined.
The details can then be compared with typical gas formation rates e.g. to EN60599 /
IEC 10/629:
