Chapter 10. Options Menu
Transferring Data Using a Computer
The GemStar Pump can be connected to a Windows
™
-compatible computer. The
following instructions apply to computers using Microsoft
™
Windows 95,
Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.0 or higher.
Creating a New Connection
To create a new connection:

Follow steps 1–4 in Using an Existing Connection on the following page .

If a message appears asking if a modem is necessary for a connection, click NO .

Enter a name for the new connection (e.g., GemStar Print Files) and choose an
icon.

Click OK .

From the Connect drop-down menu, select the appropriate COM port.

Click OK .

Verify that the following settings are correct:

Click OK .

Select the Properties icon.

Select the Settings tab.

Select the ASCII setup button.

Ensure ‘Append line feeds to incoming line ends’ is checked.

Click OK in the ASCII setup window.

Click OK in the Properties window.

Note: The following procedure is only needed to create a “New Connection” the first
time the pump is connected to the computer.
