Hospira GemStar System Operating Manual

Change Pump Settings

Press [

OPTIONS

] and select

PUMP SETTINGS

Press the number key for the desired pump setting.

Follow the display messages. Refer to the

instructions of the desired pump setting for more

information.

Select this item from

AIR SENSOR

Change the air
sensor sensitivity.

The pump alarms when it detects an air
bubble of approximately 0.5 mL when ON;
or at approximately 2 mL when 2 mL is
selected. The air alarm does

not

sound if

OFF is selected.

Note: The air sensor is not accessible for

configuration if pre-configured by your

facility to ON or 2mL.

The air alarm can also be set during
programming if the current therapy allows
it.

OCCL SENSOR

Change the distal
occlusion sensor
sensitivity.

Default Setting: High

The pump alarms when distal pressure is
greater than the selected occlusion
sensor limit.

SOUND LEVEL

Adjust the audible
alarm level.

Default Setting: Maximum
The alarm cannot be turned off
completely. The alarm automatically
reverts to the maximum volume if the user
does not respond within one minute.

Note: The current setting flashes on the display.
