4.4 Mounting on a Rack

The Device can be mounted onto a 19-inch cabinet rack that conforms to the EIA standard.

The procedure is as follows:

It is not possible for the provided rack fixture alone to support the weight of a Device. Its
purpose is merely to hold a Device on the rack. Accordingly, use the following fixtures:

Hitachi WAN Accelerator: Guide rails or a shelf

You must use the guide rails and shelves provided with the rack, and these must be
able to support the weight of a Device (with the maximum number of optional modules
installed).

Step 1

Attach a guide rail or a shelf to the rack.

For the installation location of the guide rail, see Figure 4-2 Installing a guide rail.
