2.8 Installation location
The Device can be installed either on a table or a 19-inch cabinet rack.
(1) Table
Install the Device on a level, stable and flat table. When installing the Device on a desktop,
consider the requirements described in the following table.
Table 2-5 Conditions for installing the device on a table

Ensure at least 70 mm of space around all air vents of the Device. (For details, see
2.10 Cooling requirements.)
Space for cables
Ensure 100 mm of space in front of the Device and 50 mm of space behind the
Device for the routing of cables.

Noise of the device
For details about noise, see 2.11 Device Noise.
#1: When using the Device in a 200 V AC environment, ensure 100 mm of space behind
the Device.
If placing the Device on a desk, lay it on its side on a workbench capable of
withstanding the weight of the device. Placing the Device in an unstable location, such
as on an unsteady or tilting surface, might cause the device to fall, resulting in serious
injury to yourself and others.
(2) 19-inch cabinet rack
When mounting the Device on a rack, be sure to satisfy the rack requirements described in
Table 2-6 Rack requirements.
In addition, prepare the brackets described in Table 2-7 Required brackets and the screws
described in Table 2-8 Number of required screws.

EIA standard.
To use a 19-inch cabinet rack conforming to the JIS standard, contact your sales
representative.
