Preface

About this Manual

This manual provides information about Hitachi WAN Accelerator. Before you operate the
Device, read this manual carefully and make sure that you understand all instructions and
safety precautions. After reading the manual, keep it in a convenient place for easy
reference.

Corrections to this manual

The Release Notes and Manual Corrections that come with the software might include
corrections to this manual.

Intended readers

This manual is intended for engineers who install and handle Hitachi WAN Accelerator and
for system administrators who configure and operate network systems that use Hitachi
WAN Accelerator. Readers are therefore required to have knowledge of electric circuits,
wire connections, and network systems. In addition, readers must understand the basics of
network system management.
