icmp limit rate

Description

This command specifies the transmission interval for ICMP errors in the

gen

level of

configuration definition mode.

This command controls the interval for each combination of the source and destination IP
addresses of ICMP error packets.

Syntax

icmp limit rate { default |

<milli seconds>

}

Parameters

default

Sets the default minimum interval between ICMP error messages.

1.

Default value when this parameter is omitted:

None (this parameter cannot be omitted).

2.

Range of values:

1000 (milliseconds)

<milli seconds>

Specify the minimum interval between ICMP error messages. If you set 0, the
transmission of ICMP error packets is not limited by the transmission interval.

0 to 600000 (milliseconds)

Notes:

The set value is used after being rounded up to the nearest multiple of 4.
