<Sysname> reset packet-drop interface
shutdown
Syntax
shutdown
undo shutdown
View
Ethernet interface view, management Ethernet interface view, port group view
Default level
2: System level
Parameters
None
Description
Use the
shutdown
command to shut down an Ethernet interface.
Use the
undo
shutdown
command to bring up an Ethernet interface.
By default, an Ethernet interface is in the up state.
You may need to shut down and then bring up an Ethernet interface to activate configuration changes,
such as the speed or duplex mode changes.
Of a double Combo interface, only one port (either the optical or electrical port) is active at any given
point in time. When you activate the optical port by using the
undo
shutdown
command, the electrical
port is disabled automatically, and vice versa.
Configured in interface view, this command takes effect on the current interface only. Configured in port
group view, this command takes effect on all interfaces in the port group.
CAUTION:
Use this command with caution. After you shut down an Ethernet interface by using this command, the
Ethernet interface cannot forward packets even if it is physically connected.
