Model P63 pH Analyzer

Electrode
Impedance Readings
☞
The analyzer also displays electrode impedance readings to
assist you in diagnosing problems. When using a GLI
Differential Technique sensor, the displayed impedance
readings are of its active and standard electrodes. When
using a conventional combination pH electrode, the dis-
played impedance readings are of its glass and reference
electrodes. The type of glass used for each electrode will
affect the actual measured values. In any case, all imped-
ance readings are temperature compensated.
Maintenance Tip!
To take advantage of this useful ana-
lyzer feature, upon startup note the impedance readings
for each electrode to establish a statistical “baseline.”
Thereafter, occasionally monitor these readings for steep
increases or decreases. Abnormally high or low readings
can indicate:
•
Electrode degradation due to aging.
•
A disconnected sensor.
•
A sensor that is out of the process.
•
A dehydrated, cracked or broken electrode.
