Printer

The following procedures describe how to replace the printer module assembly, the
printer motor and gear assembly, the paper sensor, the print head, the printer door,
and the printer door sensor.

Printer Module Assembly

The following procedures describe how to remove and replace the printer module
assembly.

Removing the Printer Module Assembly

Use the following procedure to remove the printer module assembly.

1.

Before beginning any steps, follow the instructions in

“Preparing the System for

FRU Replacement” on page 73

2.

Remove the top cover assembly, if it is has not been removed already.

See

“Removing the Top Cover Assembly” on page 75

for more information.

3.

Detach the chassis.

See

“Detaching the Chassis” on page 82

for instructions.

4.

Remove the four (4) screws securing the printer module assembly to the bottom
cover.

The locations of the four (4) screws are approximately identified in the following
photograph.

5.

Lift the printer module assembly to remove it.
