2.7 Safety and tips
2.7.1 Safety
Please read important safety messages and manufacturer discharges located at the beginning of this
manual.
WARNING
Failure to comply with safety rules could result in a product, vehicle or environmental
damages and could have serious health consequences!
The IIDTool is operational only when :
1- It is inserted into the vehicle’s OBDII connector
2- The engine is running
or
The ignition is ON (key to “ II or ON ” or start button pressed once without starting the engine)

The IIDTool is not designed to remain connected to the vehicle. Perform an adequate dis-

Engine starting is not essential to the fulfillment of several short tasks. Longer tasks should be done
with the engine running and must therefore be done outside to avoid the risk of carbon monoxide poi-
soning!
! Ensure the vehicle is in a safe environment at all times !
For safety, it is important to ensure that the vehicle is stationary:

Automatic transmission : In “ Park ”
•
Manual transmission : In neutral position with the parking brake engaged (unless otherwise
noted)
It is recommended to roll down at least one window in case of emergency (Reflash failure etc).
WARNING
By selecting certain functions, warning messages will be dis-
played. The first time these functions are used, the warning
messages will be shown three times and cannot be ignored. In
subsequent uses, warning messages can be avoided by pres-
sing the Enter button.
By pressing the Enter button, the user confirms that he has
read and understood the warning.
