TX/RX menu

Settings for the FCV-38 can be changed from this menu. For external sounders, see 
section 4.6.3.

[Auto]

Click [Auto Range] or [Auto Shift] to enable the respective functions. Click 
[Off] to disable both [Auto Range] and [Auto Shift].

Note 1: 

Both the [Auto Range] and [Auto Shift] can only be selected indi-

vidually.

Note 2: 

While [Auto Range] is active, the range indication on the header 

shows "AT" and the shift indication shows "N/A". Neither range nor shift can 
be operated manually.

Note 3: 

While [Auto Shift] is active, the shift indication on the header shows 

"AT". Shift cannot be operated manually. Range can be adjusted.

Menu item

Description

[TX Cycle Select]

When using more than one fish finder with the same frequency, in 
close proximity, interference can occur. To display the seabed as 
best as possible, set this item to [Auto]. Set to [Manual] when inter-
ference occurs. Select the setting that suppresses interference.

[TX Rate]

Changes the rate at which the fish finder transmits a pulse. Adjust 
this setting to erase false seabed echoes which may appear be-
tween the surface and the actual seabed in shallow waters This 
function is inoperative when [TX Cycle Select] is set to [Manual].

[Bottom Search]

Enables or disables bottom detection. The depth display shows "-.-
". when [Bottom Search] is turned off.

When the long-distance detection function is turned on, it is possi-
ble to measure the fish length to a longer distance than normal. 
When set to [Auto], the range detection function is automatically 
turned on when the range is switched over the set value (set by 
[Deep Mode Start Range] below).
