TX/RX menu
Settings for the external fish finder’s transmission can be adjusted from the [TX/RX]
section of the [External Echo Sounder]
→
[Sounder] menu. To adjust the FCV-38 trans-
mission settings, see section 4.7.2.
HF and LF menus
Menu item
Description
[TX Power]
When using more than one fish finder with the same fre-
quency, in close proximity, interference can occur. To re-
duce the interference, you can reduce the transmission
power by lowering this setting. To disable this fish finder,
set this setting to [Off].
Depending on the connected fish finder, the settings op-
tions are [Off], [1] to [10]. The smaller the number the
lower the TX power.
[TX Rate]
Changes the rate at which the fish finder transmits a
pulse. Adjust this setting to erase false seabed echoes
which may appear between the surface and the actual
seabed.

Description
[TX Pulse]
Pulse width changes according to range and shift values.
However, when long range detection or better resolution
is your objective, you can manually adjust the pulse width.
the available settings are:
• [1/4]: Higher resolution, however range is lower than
the [1/2] setting.
• [1/2]: High resolution, however range is lower then the
[Std] setting.
• [Std]: Standard (default) setting. Range and resolution
are balanced.
• [

2]: Higher range than [Std], however resolution is
lower.
• [Manual]: Adjust the pulse width manually.
