4. ADVANCED SETTINGS
4-12
Split menu
The [Split] menu contains settings for the [Std] and [Deep Mode] (1/2) split-beam dis-
plays. The table below shows the values at which the system switches between [Std]
and [Deep Mode] (1/2).
[Deep Mode Start
Range]
Sets the start range for the [Deep Mode]. When the depth becomes
greater than this setting, the [Deep Mode] is enabled (provided
[Deep Mode] is set to [Auto].
[Simul. TX]
Enables or disables simultaneous transmission in the split-beam
mode. The screen is drawn faster in this mode, however unwanted
echoes (false seabed echoes) may appear.
[Off]: Disables simultaneous transmission. (This is called alternat-
ing transmission.)
[Auto]: If the range is higher than set at [Simul. TX Start Range], all
beams are transmitted simultaneously. If the range is lower than
the set value, some beams will be transmitted simultaneously de-
pending on the beam direction setting. (This is called semi-simulta-
neous transmission.) The beams that are transmitting
simultaneously can be judged by the color of the beam direction
display “figure”. Beams transmitting simultaneously have the same
color.
[On]: Enables simultaneous transmission.
Beam example: multi-beam 1 - multi-beam 5
[Simul. TX Start
Range]
Sets the start range for simultaneous transmission, when [Simul.
TX] is set to [Auto] or [On].
The sum of range value and shift value
[Std] and [Deep Mode] (1/2) setting
Range is less than the [Deep Mode Start
Range] setting in the [TX/RX] menu.
[Std] settings are used.
Range is greater than the [Deep Mode
Start Range] setting in the [TX/RX] menu.
[Deep Mode 1] settings are used.
Range is greater than the [TRX Start
Range] setting of [Deep Mode 2] in the
