5.3 DAT Drive (DDS4)

• Cleaning cartridge

Use the following cleaning cartridge in this unit.

• Cleaning the tape heads

When a cleaning cartridge is inserted into the DAT drive in the same way as a data

cartridge, head cleaning will start automatically. Head cleaning takes about 40

seconds. The cleaning cartridge is ejected automatically after cleaning is completed.

• Replacing the cleaning cartridge

Replace the cleaning cartridge in the following instances:

When it has been used 50 times (may vary if also used with other devices)

When a it is not automatically ejected within one minute of being inserted

When the Clean LED does not stop blinking even after the cleaning cartridge has

been used

When all the tape has been wound up onto the right-hand reel (cleaning tape cannot

be reused)
